The Bay is hott and happenin'
So I was checking online today to see what shows were playing, and as it turns out, Phantom of the Opera is already playing here in town - I guess for once we were one of the "Select Cities" who got it right away, and we don't have to wait until Jan 21st for the "Openning Everywhere" bit. This is probably the last time we'll ever make the first cut like this.
Anyway, so if we wanna go see that, I'm totally go - I've basically given up on seeing something like this in its theatre version, so this will have to do - though I do wish that there was singing involved. I'm always in the mood for a good musical.
How was my birthday you ask? Fine thanks. The actual big day was pretty good, considering I had a test the next day, and I didn't really go out anywhere. The family came over, we did cake (there were two cakes! One icecream, and one regular) and we had pizza, and then there was some fooseball action, and a little trial game of Scene It - which I totally dominated. Guess I know a bit more about movies than I thought - but keep in mind I was playing against my mom, aunt, and sister. Not necessarily the brightest crayons in the box :P In the present department, I mostly just got cash, but that's exactly what I wanted. It's all going into the "Buy Kerri something nice in Europe" fund.
Then the Birthday festivities spilled over onto the 13th, we went out to the pub, and there was a really good group of people. I always have way more fun when there are more people there, because most times I go to the bar to be social, not to drink (I'm usually the driver because of my crappy location). But no driving for this lady on that night! As soon as we arrived, I was bombarded with drinks. I believe I had 6 drinks in a time span of 20 minutes. I usually have maybe two all night. But then the stream of drinks slowed down, so I was able to play catch up. I had set my upper limit at 10 drinks for the night, because I had to work next morning, but I only ended up having 9, and I didn't even have to turn any down, so it was perfect. And though I was tired this morning, I didn't feel sick at all. I think I much prefer this type of birthday (not feeling sick) to last year's type, where I wanted to puke all day afterward, but my body wouldn't cooperate, so I just had to slowly filter the alcohol out of me. If Matt ever gets around to sending me the pics, I'll post some birthday shots soon.
So now I'm 22 - guess that's alright. It sounds so much older when you say it outloud. If I just think about it, it's fine, but to say it is a bit harsher. Well soon everyone here (Court, James, me, Pepper) will all be in the 2-2 club. Sorry Geoff, you're a bit behind the times :P
So maybe share some thoughts on seeing Phantom sometime (I can't Saturday though) and we can get that party started.
Ciao fellas.
